Run by Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board, the aim of this programme is to provide a pathway for people who want to begin a career in engineering. It takes place with the employer and provides the learner with training and practical experience in the working environment. In addition to further developing the skills and knowledge gained during the off -the -job training elements, the learner will develop the competence and self-confidence to consistently perform to industrial standards. The course will be delivered over 48 weeks which includes the the learner going on weekly work experience.
The skills and learning that that is learned in the college can be practiced and developed in the work place. When completed, the learner will have gained a broad foundation of knowledge and skills across the different Engineering disciplines especially those in Building Construction, Computer Aided Drafting, Engineering processes and Material Science.
